Team Toa was founded by Coach Nic Iamaleava in 2018. A dedicated  father of eight, he searched for the right 7v7 team for his sons. After some time, he realized he had to create his own team in order to avoid the inflated expenses, politics, and more. Thus, Team Toa was born. He was able to bring on his sons' friends and other young men who otherwise would not have had the opportunity or means to join a club team. They trained, played and traveled together and throughout the years have accomplished so much, all of which have led to many of these young men becoming learners of the game and life. So many have also earned full scholarships to attend college. 

We have been blessed to add a girls' team to Team Toa! We are dedicated to growing the opportunity for our female youth and high school athletes to gain exposure for future college scholarship opportunities. Our Team Toa Girlz endured a challenging, yet successful first season. We have since then added a team for our youth girls and are excited for their first season.

Team Toa is not just a 7v7 club team. We are family - a lifestyle. The term Toa in the Samoan language translates as "brave warrior". When the name TOA was adopted for the national rugby team, the acronym stood for the following: Tautua (service), Ola (life), and Alofa (love). All these things we implement in all we do for our players, from coaching to fellowship.
